The ballet suite "Sunrise" is performed by students of various ages and professional dancers from the School of Russian Ballet and Brighton Ballet Theater. The suite has a plot that combines it into a single composition. The premiere of the show, just like all of the works of Edouard Kouchnarev, is different from the traditional versions by its completely new and unexpected reading of this Frédéric Chopin's most popular music. With their ability to fantasize, empathize and spontaneously express emotions, the children transform the dance into a bright fairy take about nature.
With the first sounds of music, the performance moves the audience into the spellbinding atmosphere of the enchanting forest where the characters live, breathe and feel like a single being. With the rays of the rising sun, the trees and flowers come to life, magic elves, extraordinary butterflies and dragonflies wake up and rejoice at every moment given to them by the warm light. The irrepressible joy of the inhabitants of the forest is overshadowed by the clouds covering the sun or rain that temporarily scares away the fairy creatures. But nothing can stop the heroes of this fairy tale from bringing each other and the audience the daring feeling of happiness, love, and the poetry of nature, music, and beauty.
The ballet is a continuation of one of Brighton Ballet’s most beloved traditions: Theater for Young Audiences. Past ballets from this program include “The Nutcracker,” “The Radish,” “Ugly Duckling,” "Cinderella," and other adaptations of classic tales.
THIS PROGRAM IS SUPPORTED, IN PART, BY PUBLIC FUNDS FROM
