Message from the Founder and Artistic Director

Dear BBT Students, Families and Friends,

We hope this email finds you well and safe. We are looking toward the future, in terms of reopening, based on the guidance from our local authorities and our government.

BBT is hoping that if some of the social distancing restrictions are relaxed this summer, we could offer children's classes on a limited basis in July and August--perhaps one or two classes of 4-8 students max at a time in different rooms so students can be spaced out. We would probably also eliminate changing rooms and waiting areas for parents until further restrictions are dropped. We hope by fall we can return to some sort of normal schedule and offer winter performances as usual.

As you are all hopefully aware, BBT offers classes using Zoom in order to keep students socially connected, physically active, and mentally engaged during this time of quarantine. We are doing everything possible to support our students and serve as a resource for each of you. The whole BBT team is “on our feet” and working to this end.

Our 34th World of Dance Festival and celebration of Edouard Kouchnarev’s 25th Anniversary at BBT as Main Choreographer and Artistic Director will be held online on Sunday, June 14th, 2020 at 5PM. This unprecedented moment will remain a history. We would like to invite all our students and Alumni to be a part of this performance to support BBT’s mission and a great cause - At BBT, we believe in the powerful ability of the arts to unite people in the shared desire for kindness, compassion, self-expression and beauty.

Going forward we will continue to offer on-line classes charging a $10/class fee in order to support our teachers and staff that continue whether we meet in person or virtually. We know that this is a challenging time for all of us and above all we want everyone to stay safe and be healthy. We thank you for being our customers, as well as part of the BBT family, and for standing with us. We hope that when this crisis is over, we are stronger as a school, as an organization, and as a community.

Stay safe and healthy,
