"The World of Dance" Festival -- Showcasing the cultural diversity of South Brooklyn

The World of Dance Festival was founded by Brighton Ballet Theater/School of Russian American Ballet over 30 years ago. Now it is the largest festival of its kind in Brooklyn and beyond. We created the festival because we recognized there is a need for a cultural festival that presents a wide range of music, dance, folk stories and original ballets specially tailored for young audiences. This festival creates an ongoing dialogue between a wide community of nations and cultures and has attracted overwhelming support from diverse audiences up through today.

International artists who have participated in previous festivals have tremendously enjoyed their joint performances with us, making this festival an enjoyable and memorable experience for all.

Brighton Ballet Theater strongly believes that folk arts are those essential cultural expressions, that should be passed on in different art forms including music, dance, stories, and magic - passed down through time by families, communities, and others.

Our programming embraces the heritage and traditions of all Americans, from those whose families have been here for centuries to those of our country's most recent immigrants. We are proud to present a wide range of talent from old and young dancers.
